About · Jagos Surf Travel

A surf travel journal, told straight.

This is where I share first-hand advice on where to go, when to go and how to get there, for surfers who want to travel deeper and find real waves without the brochure talk.

I · Why it exists

Because brochures don't surf.

Plenty of travel writing reads like it is selling something: a package, a perfect week, a forecast that never quite looks like the photos. I wanted a place that answers the questions committed surfers actually ask before they book.

So that is what this journal is. Plain answers on where to go, when to go and how to get there. First-hand where it is my own experience, and clear about it when it is not.

II · Who it's for

Surfers planning their own trips.

If you would rather plan a trip yourself than be handed an itinerary, you are who I write for. You want the straight version from someone who will tell you what is worth the trouble and what is not, the way a friend would.

III · The questions

Where.When.How.

The three questions behind every guide I write: where to go, when to go and how to get there.

IV · How I write

The rules I keep.

  1. 01Say what I know, and how I know it.

I keep personal experience and checked information apart, so you can always see which is which.

  2. 02Practical before pretty.

Getting there, timing and the details that change a trip come first. The scenery can speak for itself.

  3. 03No brochure talk.

No hype, no fake urgency, no paradise promises. If a trip is hard work, I will say so.

  4. 04Written for the one doing the planning.

Everything here is meant to help you make your own decisions and plan your own trip.
